I joined Newcastle Medical Centre in 1987 when we were based at Newcastle University and were called the University Health Centre. I joined as a salaried GP. A few short years after joining I took the practice independent and we became Newcastle Medical Centre. We moved to our current location in 2010.
I graduated from medical school in 1984 at Newcastle University.
My lead areas of interest are Psychiatry.
Dr W Makepeace (Male)

I have been employed as a GP since 1979 previously working in Northumberland and the Scottish Islands.
Since 2004, initially as a locum GP, I have been employed at Newcastle Medical Centre. My areas of special interests are Palliative Care, Mental Health, and general prescribing issues.
Prior to qualifying as a GP I worked as a Electrochemist.

I joined Newcastle Medical Centre in February 2019 as a salaried GP. I previously worked in Wallsend as a GP Partner.
I have an interest in Mental Health having worked in this area previously.
I am the audit lead at the practice.

I joined Newcastle Medical Centre in November 2018 as a salaried GP. Prior to that I have been a locum GP at various sites around the North East of England.
I graduated from medical school, Newcastle University, in 2009, before going on to complete my junior doctor training in Newcastle Hospitals between 2009-2012, and completing my GP training in October 2015.
My lead areas of interest are Frailty, Caldicott and QoF (Quality and Outcomes Framework).

I have joined Newcastle Medical Centre in September 2018. I have worked as GP Principal in Shiremoor Health Centre, North Tynesdie and as a Salaried GP in Holly Medical Group in Jesmond before joining this practice. My main areas of interest are Womens Health and I am currently in the process of setting up IUCD and Implant services for our female population.
I also do 6-8 week baby checks and cervical screening.
I am lead GP for child safeguarding, adult safeguarding, learning disability and FGM

I joined Newcastle Medical Centre in January 2021. I previously worked in an Accident and emergency department in South Tyneside specializing in trauma and resuscitation. I then worked for a short period as a pre-operative assessment nurse, during this time I was supporting many patients including oncology patients on their journey to recovery.
I have an interest in family planning and sexual health, immunisations, emotional support and wellbeing, palliative care and oncology.

I have been working in Newcastle Medical since 2018. I have had previous experience working in community pharmacy, medication optimisation in primary care, and teaching and research.
My lead areas of interest in Newcastle medical are prescribing, medication reviews, handling of medication queries, quality improvement (Qof), and long term disease management.
